What do you do at Klearcom?
I work as a Digital Marketing Content Specialist within the Marketing Team here at Klearcom’s Global HQ Office in Waterford, Ireland.
What made you choose marketing as a career?
I enjoy the creative process that marketing requires. I find it comes naturally to me to think of creative ways to tell a story and ultimately connect the company with its audience. Marketing is also an in-demand skill with multiple specializations, so it’s quite an employable field.
What struck you as unique when you first joined Klearcom?
The people here are very down-to-earth. There’s a proactive "let's do it" attitude that encourages us to pursue our ideas. I find this "make stuff happen" mindset very inspiring. It allows us to put our ideas into action, making us feel more invested in achieving results for our initiatives.
What excites you about what you do?
Marketing is constantly evolving and so there’s plenty of upskilling involved. I like learning how to use new tools and then using these tools to work smarter and achieve our marketing goals. I've got really into SEMRush recently, a very powerful tool that has helped us to considerably improve our SEO and PPC.
Could you walk us through your typical work week? What kind of projects do you work on at Klearcom?
I start every day checking our Google Ads campaigns and how they are performing, such as reviewing and cleaning search terms, ad CPC, and so on. I check our inbounds, social media community engagement, and how other campaigns like our emails are performing.
Our ultimate goal is to generate marketing-qualified inbound leads for the sales team to engage with, so everything revolves around that. This includes SEO, video, PPC, and creating new content streams focused on customer success stories and blog articles.
What is an exciting challenge that you're currently facing?
We are working hard to improve Klearcom’s visibility and share of voice in our industry, which has some companies competing in it for quite some time. We are disruptors, and innovative ones at that with our unique solutions. We’ve seen some very positive improvements recently for our efforts. Reviewing our strategy regularly is paramount, along with our KPIs, to ensure we are going in the right direction and creating content that our decision-makers care about.
What’s it like to have hybrid work at Klearcom?
It’s the perfect setup really. We come in 3 days a week in the office with WFH Tuesdays and Thursdays. WFH allows you to really focus in on individual tasks, whereas coming into the office I find there’s a lot of ideation as we tend to have our meetings in-office. As a result of putting a few heads together, we come up with some exciting marketing ideas to run with.
How would you describe your team dynamic?
It’s very collaborative and open, which I like. We don’t work in silos but share our ideas and daily tasks. We work towards a common goal, not our own goals. Multiple eyes are better than one, and my teammates have other skillsets that they bring to the table that always contribute hugely to any project we are working on.
How would you describe the culture at Klearcom?
From an organizational perspective, it’s very flat. You can approach anyone, including upwards to management. People are very receptive to ideas here and like to give their input, which is the ideal combination really. There’s a work hard, have fun culture here. You can’t ask for more really, especially when you are given all the tools and resources to achieve your marketing goals.
What do you love about working here?
Being from Waterford, it’s quite cool to work for such an innovative company based in Waterford. We work with some of the best brands in the world, like Pfizer and Danfoss. Klearcom’s solutions genuinely make a huge impact for these global companies, so that is quite satisfying to know that a company in Waterford is having that influence at a global level.
Does pineapple belong on pizza? (look away now Italians)
I’d have to say no. I have Irish-Italian cousins that would never forgive me, and anyway, my taste buds already strongly disagree.
