What do you do at Klearcom?
I am in the Accounting/Finance department at Klearcom.
What made you choose accounting and finance as a career?
I actually just fell into the Accounting/Finance field; I suppose it was meant to be, as all my siblings work in Accounting/Finance roles.
Throughout my career, I've held various positions within an office environment, from working in a solicitor's office and the insurance industry to serving at South East Technological University (known as WIT at the time) and spending over 20 years at a radio station.
However, joining Klearcom, where I was one of the first hires, provided the challenge I needed. Before coming to Klearcom, my work experience included B2C sales, logistics, and EASL teaching.
What struck you as unique when you first joined Klearcom?
The team at Klearcom are a really unique group of people and it is a great place to work. I am in a part time book keeping role and the flexibility really suits my needs.
What excites you about what you do?
Taking on this role has truly pushed me out of my comfort zone. After working with my previous employer for over 20 years, I felt I needed a new challenge. While my last role involved some bookkeeping, I am learning new skills every day at Klearcom.
Could you walk us through your typical work week? What kind of projects do you work on at Klearcom?
I am responsible for paying all our suppliers. I complete bank reconciliations on a monthly basis, compile VAT reports and all other book keeping duties required by Klearcom.
What’s it like to have hybrid work at Klearcom?
The Hybrid work at Klearcom was a game changer for me. My work life balance has greatly improved and I feel way more productive when working from home. There are far less distractions.
